A Mason County man is charged for a second time stemming from a single four month long investigation into child pornography.
Police say Jeffrey Steiger of Casanovia used a small hidden camera to take inappropriate photos of people he lived with, including children.
Steiger was charged with the crimes back in July when police seized his phone but last week, he was charged with seven additional counts as police found more than 100 photos and videos of children on his devices.
Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole says Steiger was related to one person he lived with but not the children.
“If there’s ever a place where you should feel safe and secure, it’s in your own home,” says Cole, “This person totally compromised that trust and that friendship he had with these people and it’s a bad deal when you can’t feel safe in your own home”
Both times arrested and charged, Steiger was released on a $10,000 bond.
