Cadillac Salvation Army Collecting Toys for Kids in Need

That familiar ringing is back and on Saturday, volunteers nationwide were trying to collect more than money.

The Salvation Army and Walmart teamed up to help give toys to children in need this holiday season.

Volunteers for the Salvation Army in Cadillac met outside Walmart Saturday afternoon.

The captain for the Cadillac chapter says it is their first year participating in the toy drive.

As of 2:30 p.m. Saturday, they did not have a single toy donation

However, quite a few people did put money in the famous red kettle.

“Just beginning the awareness campaign of what we’re doing and raising funds and items for families in need this season,” said Salvation Army Captain R.C. Duskin.

It is not too late to contribute a toy!

You can still drop them off at the Salvation Army Cadillac location at 725 Wright St.
