Antrim Pitch Night Allows Startup Companies to Show Off Ideas and Win Big Prizes

Several local startup companies got the chance to show off their idea and hopefully win some extra cash.

The Antrim Pitch Night is a “Shark Tank” style event that shows off some of the ingenuity in these local businesses.

It took place tonight at Shanty Creek Resort near Bellaire.

Contestant’s received business advice on their plans from professionals before making their pitch.

“They all have wonderful, unique needs. They’re all entrepreneurs, people who are starting businesses, or want to start a business and have a business plan,” said Regional Manager of DTE Energy, Carla Gribbs.

There was a broad range of businesses from a recycling service to an app that traces the source of your food.

There was one company attempting to start interactive painting classes.

“It’s really fun to see everybody, how excited they are. They have a lot of energy, their presentations are awesome, it’s a step up from last year, I feel,” said previous winner, Seth Gernot.

Taking home the $10,000 first prize was A&M Beauty.
