Man Killed in Charlevoix County Officer-Involved Shooting Identified
We now know the name of the man killed in an officer-involved shooting in Charlevoix.
The shooting took place just after midnight Saturday morning near Walloon Lake.
A deputy and a Boyne City officer responded to a call about a suicidal man.
Michigan State Police say Johnathan Slattery of Battle Creek was in a parking lot by U.S. 131 and M-75.
When the officers tried to talk to Slattery they say he pulled out a gun.
State police say one of the officers fired, killing Slattery.
State police are now investigating the incident.
Both officers are on administrative leave until MSP finishes their investigation.
