Harbor Springs Library Seeks Donations to Update 111 Year-Old Building

The Harbor Springs library is 125 years old and has been in the same building for 111 years.

Its age is starting to show a little.

The library kicked off fundraising efforts to help restore portions of the building.

They need a new roof, some bathroom updates, and upgrades to their elevator.

They are accepting donations for specially engraved wooden book spines to be displayed at the library.

“We’re the only public library in the state of Michigan that does not receive any public funding, so I really think it speaks a lot of the community of Harbor Springs that we have been here for 125 years on the generosity of community donations,” said Amelie Dawson, Director of the Harbor Springs Library.
