Isabella County Sheriff’s Office Hosts Back the Blue Fun Run and 5K

The Isabella County Sheriff’s Office got a running start on fundraising for their car seat program.

140 people came out for the department’s first Back the Blue 5k and fun run.

Proceeds from the event will help educate the community about proper car seat installation.

They will also give away some car seats for free.

Sheriff Michael Main says the county did not get a federal grant this year to pay for these services, so this 5k and fun run will help make up the money.

The department says they were thrilled with the turnout at their first-ever race event.

“It’s the first time we’ve done it ever. So yeah, it’s kind of cool that we had over 140 runners the first year that really knew that this was an important project for us and that we really wanted to keep this funded,” said Sheriff Michael Main.
