Mason County Man Killed in ‘Derby Car’ Crash
Deputies say a man was killed in Mason County last night after a crash with a modified “derby car.”
The sheriff’s office says they were called to Tuttle road in Custer Township just before 8 p.m.
They say 21-year-old Izeek Ratliff of Scottville was driving north when his Chevrolet Malibu drifted right and hit an embankment.
Deputies say the car was not road legal and had been modified for use as a “derby car.”
Investigators say they are examining the Malibu to see if there was a mechanical failure that could have contributed to the crash.
The sheriff’s office says toxicology tests are pending.
