The University of Michigan has been selected to host the second presidential debate of 2020.

The Commission on Presidential Debates announced the schedule Friday for the four 2020 general election presidential and vice presidential debates.

The University of Michigan in Ann Arbor will host the debate on October 15 of next year.

The first presidential debate is also in the Midwest. It will be at the University of Notre Dame on Sept. 29, 2020.

The commission says to qualify for the debates, candidates must appear on enough state ballots to have a mathematical chance of winning a majority in the Electoral College, and have at least 15% support nationally in five national polls chosen in advance by the commission.
