Traverse City Area Public School Board Called for Special Meeting

The Traverse City Area Public School Board of Education called a special board meeting today.

The meeting had standing room only.

Full of parents and community members that were unhappy with the board’s actions.

The board hasn’t said exactly what this meeting is about, but Trustee Erica Moon Mohr said Friday that the board is trying to push out their new Superintendent Ann Cardon.

It’s clear that the community is not happy.

She accused TCAPS President Sue Kelly of bullying and attacking Cardon.

Superintendent Cardon has been in the position for just 72 days and replaced Paul Soma.

Community members showed up in droves to express support for Superintendent Cardon, and disgust with the board.

Moon Mohr says something needs to change and asked two board members to resign.

“We will never attract a high quality superintendent until there is change on this board. The dysfunction is well known throughout the Sate of Michigan and I ask you to step down,” said TCAPS Trustee, Moon Mohr.
