Traverse City Medical Practice Pays $600,000 to Resolve False Claim Case

A Traverse City medical practice has paid the United States Government over $600,000 to resolve a case over false claims.

Traverse Anesthesia Associates are said to have falsely submitted anesthesia claims to Medicare.

The case was brought to the government’s attention by two former employees.

Traverse Anesthesia Associates provides anesthesiology services and pain management to hospitals and outpatient sites in the Traverse City area.

Two former employees filed a civil lawsuit under the false claims act.

Under a settlement with the U.S. Attorney’s Office, both former employees will receive $120,000 of the $607,000 settlement proceeds. .

The claims resolved are only allegations.

TAA has not been found guilty of the accusations.
