Cadillac Fire Dept. Puts Out Railcar Fire Near N. Mitchell St.

A fire in a railcar full of cattle feed in Cadillac is now out.

It is unclear how the fire started.

Around noon Monday, the fire department sent a message to people living in the area warning of possible flames, smoke and odors in area of Tenth Street and North Mitchell.

State officials visited the site and confirmed the smoke from the burning feed is non-toxic.

At 4:30 Monday afternoon, the Cadillac Fire Department said they put out the fire.
