Sending your kids out the door in the morning to make their trek to school can be scary, and that’s why we brought on Registered Dietitian Grace Derocha from to tell us how to make these walks safer and easier on your little ones.

From heavy books to the right walking shoes, she had a tip for everything. She showed us how to pack your kids bag, how to prepare for the weather, and even how to make sure your kid is safe on their walk across busy streets.

Not only is walking to school a great opportunity for your kids to get active, but it also teaches them the ways of the road and prepares them to be more independent.
