Vice President Pence Visits Mackinac Island for Day 2 of Republican Leadership Conference

Saturday was the second day of the Mackinac Republican Leadership Conference, and it was quite a busy one with a visit from Vice President Mike Pence.

Its the first time a sitting vice president has ever attended the conference.

“Well hello Michigan, “ Vice President Pence said as he took the stage greeted with loud cheers.

Just before addressing the crowd, the Vice President arrived to the Grand Hotel via motorcade, breaking an age old island ban on motor vehicles.

Like Sarah Huckabee Sanders Friday night, Vice President Pence showed his support for U.S. Senate candidate John James.

“He’s been inspiring people all across American, and he’s gonna be the next senator from the state of Michigan,” Vice President Pence said of James.

He touted some of the administrations’ record.

“It’s been about supporting our military, supporting security at home and abroad, standing with those who serve and have served, and securing our borders,” Vice President Pence said.

But drawing the biggest applause from the crowd, was when Vice President Pence talked on their stance against abortion.

“I promise you it is the greatest honor of my life to be Vice President to a President who stands without apology for the sanctity of human life,” Vice President Pence said followed by an eruption of cheers from the crowd.

He says the Trump administration needs four more years.

“Four more years means more jobs, four more years means more judges, four more years means more support for our troops, and it’s gonna take at least four more years to drain that swamp,” Vice President Pence said.

Vice President Pence also encouraged Republicans to get involved this election cycle, he says the stakes are high.
