Gun Control Policy Still Unclear, Congress Waits for President Trump
GOP leaders say they still don’t know where the president will land on gun control.
This comes after a lengthy gun control meeting with Attorney General William Barr.
GOP leaders said last week that they would not discuss their plan of action on gun control until they knew what the president would back.
But Republican leaders met Wednesday with the attorney general to discuss where the president stands, as well as exchange their ideas.
But with both sides waiting for the president to discuss his policy, many lawmakers are urging Congress to take action now.
Attorney General Barr has said that he recommends expanding background checks.
Barr is set to meet with the president in the coming days to discuss the matter further.
