Veterans Take Off For Another Trip of A Lifetime with Mid-Michigan Honor Flight
Dozens of veterans are getting ready for the trip of a lifetime, the Mid-Michigan Honor Flight.
It’s an emotional experience that takes dozens of local heroes on a free trip to Washington D.C. to see the memorials built in their honor.
This group of veterans will take off from Traverse City’s Cherry Capital airport around 8:30 a.m.
When they land in D.C., the vets will visit the World War II Memorial, the Korean War Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery and many other meaningful sites.
Organizers say it’s a whirlwind trip and a well-deserved “thank you” to our local veterans who have served and sacrificed.
9&10’s Gabriella Galloway and photojournalist Catie Emery were honored to join them this time.
We’ll be checking in on them for the duration of the group’s visit.
