Ian Elliott’s Attorney to Bring Rape Case Sentencing Up to AG Nessel

Continuing coverage on the rape case against former CMU student Ian Elliott.

The lawyer representing Elliott plans to meet with Attorney General Dana Nessel Wednesday to discuss his case.

Elliott was sentenced to a year and a day after pleading no contest to raping two CMU students while he was the student government president.

Last week, we learned former Assistant Attorney General Brian Kolodziej, who was the prosecutor in the case, had a relationship with one of the victims.

Kolodziej resigned.

After his resignation, the attorney representing Elliott set up a meeting with Nessel.

The attorney says even if he can get Elliott’s plea withdrawn, his client will never have a chance at a fair trial.

He says he is going to make that case to Nessel today.
