Educational Trauma Students are Thriving at SOS Learning Lab

A student’s learning abilities and emotional status go hand in hand. That’s why in Traverse City works with students of all backgrounds, learning abilities and those experiencing emotional trauma. The creator, Debbie Caperton started the business after she experienced academic struggles with her own daughter because of some medical concerns.

Caperton has a special education background and worked within the public school system for years. She knew she wanted to stay connected with the education system so decided to become a resource for other educators, students and parents looking for help outside the traditional classroom setting.  In June 2010, came into view and turned into a full time business that now helps students through personalized tutoring.
