Wolf Line Construction Starts New Apprenticeship Program

About 30 Northern Michigan men started on their way to a new career Tuesday.

Wolf Line Construction recently got Department of Labor approval to start a fiber optic line worker apprenticeship.

‘Michigan Works’ also helped get it going.

The new apprentices met at the Inn in Bay Harbor Tuesday morning for orientation.

The program partners with Northwest Lineman College to give apprentices all the education and hands-on skills they need to succeed.

“They’ll learn proper installation practices,” said Tim McCulloch, Owner of Wolf Line Construction. “Each year the guys will have to go through a series of books, they need 2,000 hours. Then they go to them for hands on training that’s really intense for two weeks.”

Wolf Line Construction is hiring for various positions.
