Michigan to Distribute Tens of Thousands of Overdose Reversal Kits

In continuing coverage on the opioid crisis in Michigan, the state is giving out more than 50,000 overdose reversal kits.

The kits contain a medication called Naloxone.

On Saturday, they will start shipping out to more than 1,000 pharmacies across the state.

Naloxone reverses the effects for someone experiencing an opioid overdose.

It could make tomorrow the biggest single-day distribution of Naloxone in Michigan and one of the largest in the U.S.

The kits will go to several major chains as well as independent pharmacies.
