Mackinac Bridge Tour Auction Canceled, Man Buys Tickets for $5,000

Good news for the Leelanau Christian Neighbors.

A Kalamazoo man agreed to a “buy it now price,” for two tickets to tour the top of the Mackinac Bridge.

This canceled the nonprofit’s plans to auction off the tickets, but gave LCN a guaranteed $5,000.

The Kalamazoo man says he missed out on an opportunity to bid on a tour last year and he was not going to let it get past him this time.

Leelanau Christian Neighbors was one of 25 nonprofits to receive these tickets from the Mackinac Bridge Authority.

These tickets take people on a tower tour, squeezing through narrow hatches, climbing ladders and generally hiking through the maze-like structure to see the iconic view that’s 550 feet up above the Straits.

Only 50 people a year from the general public are given this chance.
