Patriots’ Antonio Brown Accused of Rape, Alleged Victim Releases Statement
A federal lawsuit out of Florida is accusing New England Patriots Wide Receiver Antonio Brown of raping a former CMU gymnast he hired as his trainer.
Wednesday is the first time Brown is expected to train with his new team, but that may be in doubt in light of these new allegations.
The New York Times was first to report that Britney Taylor is a former gymnast Brown first met when the two attended Central Michigan University.
The lawsuit alleges Brown assaulted her in three separate incidents, two in June 2017 and one in May 2018.
Taylor said in a statement, “Speaking out removes the shame that I have felt for the past year and places it on the person responsible for my rape.”
CBS News says Brown plans to countersue.
The Patriots say in a statement it takes the allegations very seriously, but will not comment further while an investigation is taking place.
