Lake Superior State University’s 9/11 Ceremony

Many communities and colleges across Northern Michigan are remembering 9/11 today.

Lake Superior State University held a ceremony this morning to honor and remember those who lost their lives on that day.

One fire science student was only 5 years old when the terrorist attack happened.

Daniel Jones says he vividly remembers that day, and going into fire science is something he always wanted to do despite seeing that attack at age 5.

“My parents and friends are supportive, but it’s definitely scary in the world we are growing up in, but, like I said, someone needs to do it and I love doing it, so it might as well be me,” he says.

LSSU has had yearly ceremonies on their campus since the attacks.
