Former Upper Peninsula Bus Aide Charged With Child Abuse Reaches Plea Deal

A former Upper Peninsula bus aide charged with child abuse after an incident on a Sault Ste. Marie bus has reached a plea deal.

Catherine Ryan was charged with fourth-degree child abuse, and assault and battery.

Ryan pleaded no contest to the child abuse charge.

That means she does not admit guilt, but accepts the punishment.

The assault and battery charge will be dropped as part of the plea deal.

A sentencing date has not been set.
