Michigan is the First State to Ban Flavored E-Cigarettes

Michigan will now become the very first state to ban the sale of flavored e-cigarettes.

Gov. Whitmer told the Washington Post the ban officially goes into effect Wedenesday, preventing the sale or purchase of any flavored vaping products in stores or online.

Right now the ban will only be in effect for six months, but the state government has the option to renew the ban at the end of that period.

During the ban, the state health department will work to make more official regulations.

Whitmer says it is a necessary step in preventing younger people from picking up the habit.
