Sunken Boat in Northport Bay Has Been Moved to Marina

Crews have now taken a boat which sunk in Leelanau County to a marina.

A 33-foot long boat sank in Northport Bay on Tuesday.

Rough waves delayed work removing the boat until Thursday.

Crews did set up a boom to try and keep oil contained but some did get past.

The 9th District Coast Guard says there is now a thin layer of diesel fuel on bay’s shore.

They say it should dissipate in the near future.
