Fire Destroys Wellston’s Dublin General Store

In a devastating turn of events, the Dublin General Store in Wellston has burned down.

Fire crews say the entire general store was destroyed early Saturday morning. Only the back storage building was saved.

The call came in just before 3 a.m.

Nine fire departments battled the blaze, which engulfed the entire building. It took two hours to get under control.

Two fire departments are still on scene putting out hot spots.

Established in 1935, the local landmark is a full grocery and hardware that’s especially known for its jerky. 9&10 News talked to the owner, who says they plan to rebuild.
