Consumers Energy Sending Workers to Florida Before Hurricane Hits

Consumers Energy is sending equipment and more than 60 employees to Florida ahead of Hurricane Dorian’s landfall.

They will leave Michigan this weekend and could stay in Florida up to three weeks.

Utility company Florida Power & Light made the request for help through a utility company assistance network.

Consumers says it is now their turn to help other companies after they received extra crews during last month’s power outages.

They say crews from six states came to Michigan to help restore power to more than 200,000 thousand people.
