Attorney General Nessel Preventing Company from Selling Kits to Sexual Assault Victims
Attorney General Dana Nessel is speaking out against sexual assault kits being sold by a company called “me too kits company”.
Nessel’s office says that the company is selling a sexual assault evidence kit, when victims can get these for free.
The company describes it as quote the “first-ever sexual assault evidence kit for at-home use.”
The company was told to cease and desist Thursday.
Nessel says any kits being sold commercially cost victims money and prevent them from getting the services they need.
The attorney general’s office says the company is engaging in unfair trade practices and that victims have no benefit from the company.
