Trooper Proud of Community’s Efforts After Missing Wexford Co. Woman Found

Search and rescue crews have found a missing elderly woman in Wexford County, 36 hours after she went missing.

Patricia Stark left her house sometime Tuesday morning, wearing only her pajamas.

She had last been seen walking along 46 ½ Rd. in Clam Lake Township just outside of Cadillac.

State police say Stark suffers from dementia.

Officers searched for her using K-9s, a helicopter and a thermal camera used to detect body heat.

On Wednesday, a civilian search team stepped in to help.

They found Stark tangled in tall grass not far from her home.

State police said it was nice to see the community pull together.

“Moms, dads, grandmas, grandpas, people driving around with their children in their car, everybody was looking. It was one of those proud moments to be a part of this community” said Lt. Ryan Tabaczka.

Police also said Tuesday night’s warm temperatures helped protect Stark from hypothermia.
