Gas Line Explosion Damages Mt. Pleasant Apartment Complex

Crews say a damaged gas line caused an explosion at an apartment complex in Mount Pleasant.

The fire department was called out to Lexington Ridge Apartments just before 2 p.m. Thursday afternoon.

They say the explosion damaged the building’s end unit.

Fortunately, the unit’s resident was not home and no one was hurt.

The Mount Pleasant Fire Department says a damaged gas line caused the explosion.

The department along with Consumers Energy are now investigating.
