Business Leaders Push State Legislature to Approve Budget to Improve Roads

Business leaders renewed their push Tuesday to pressure the legislature to commit to serious spending to get roads fixed.

The Michigan Chamber of Commerce and other groups want state lawmakers to approve up to $2.5 billion more per year to maintain roads.

The lobby agrees with Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s call for more spending.

State senators met privately Tuesday to discuss roads and the budget.

The House returns to session next week.
