Attorney General Nessel Responds to Enbridge Brief

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel is responding to Enbridge’s claim about the constitutionality of the Mackinac Straits Corridor Authority.

Enbridge filed with the Court of Claims back in June.

The state argues that Enbridge mischaracterized the state’s arguments and improperly tried to rewrite the title of the act creating the authority.

Nessel says there wasn’t enough notice for the act and that it shouldn’t have combined the tunnel issue with the Mackinac Bridge.

Enbridge also claims that Nessel is trying to shut down Line 5 and the construction of a tunnel is because of her “personal views and ideas.” Nessel says that’s unfounded and offensive.
