Wellness Wednesday: Try “Yarn Therapy”

When you think of knitting and crocheting you might think of a fading art, but that’s actually not the case with the Yarn Therapy Club at .  A small but mighty group of women meet every Tuesday at 10 a.m. to showcase their love of creating blankets, hats, socks and so much more. They do it as a way to socialize but it’s their efforts and talents that are having an impact.

The group has been donating most of what they knit and crochet to area hospitals, first responders and places like the American Legion.  It’s their way to give back and they say it brings them joy.

The Interlochen Public Library director, Renee Kelchak says the devoted group meets year round and besides always having smiles on their faces, they always manage to create some of the most beautiful items.
