What’s Growing With Tom: Vegetable Garden Update

It’s been a while since we’ve talked about our raised vegetable garden beds.

Online, I’ve shown you the broccoli, cauliflower and how things are coming along.

Now, the zucchini is huge! That’s my fault for letting it go, but I was on vacation.

They aren’t great for putting in a salads, but are great for making zucchini bread!

Our carrots, peppers and tomatoes are in great shape as well.  I already harvested the broccoli and cauliflower.

The question is do I need to spray VeggieBlaster?  Justin with says as long as our plants look great, it’s not needed.

But, if you see issues developing, like a yellow tint on the plants or leaves, don’t be afraid to give them a quick spray. That will give them a boost, helping them grow through the next month.

And don’t forget, you can still plant! With the broccoli and cauliflower being gone, you can use that space to re-plant lettuce or another quick growing plant.

There’s enough time, as long as you act quickly. As you know, September is not far down the road and that means the chance of frost returns to the forecast.

We are happy about the vegetable garden and would you believe the flower bed is even better!

Tune in next week for a closer look!
