Drowning in Chippewa Lake, Nearby Swimmers Attempted CPR

Mecosta County deputies say a man drowned in Chippewa Lake.

The sheriff’s office says deputies were called to the lake around 4:30 Monday afternoon.

They say Kenneth Roebuck of Mecosta was near a swimming area at the south end of the lake when he went under.

Nearby swimmers pulled him from the water.

They tried giving him CPR, but couldn’t revive him.

Investigators believe a medical issue may have played a role.
