Cherry Capital Adds Service to Phoenix-Mesa
Allegiant to add non-stop service in November
It’s another new flight coming to Traverse City’s Cherry Capital Airport, with a new destination for travelers looking to head west.
The announcement came this morning at Cherry Capital – that air carrier Allegiant Airlines is adding new service in and out of Traverse City.
The new destination is Phoenix/Mesa, Arizona. That service will start in November. It will come just a few weeks after the previously-announced launch of Allegiant’s service to and from three markets in Florida.
The Airport Director says it reflects the strong interest in the low-cost airline and this will be a year-round route with flights twice a week. Kevin Klein says, “Once they announced the Florida service and watched that booking pattern begin, it was easy to put us in the lineup for that.” He says it could mean more competition among other airlines in terms of ticket prices and destinations.
The first flights to Phoenix/Mesa will take off on November 13th. And just like they did with the Florida destinations, Allegiant is offering introductory fares for customers who book their travel now.
