Tons of Tails Wagging in Northport’s 23rd Annual Dog Parade

Fluffy tails and lots of leashes were at the center of a Northern Michigan parade.

Man’s best friend and their owners came out Saturday to enjoy the 23rd Annual Northport Dog Parade.

Paws of all sizes began marching down the street Saturday at noon in downtown Northport.

This year’s theme was tail house rock.

Owners were also welcomed to dress up themselves along with their dogs up to compete in a costume contest.

With a reputation of being the cutest parade in the north, spectators say it’s easy to see it returns year after year.

David Chrobak, the founder of Northport Dogs on Parade, said

“I’m so honored that something I started as such a simple little thing still continues and that so many people get such joy out of it.

Prizes were awarded to the costume winners.

All proceeds will be donated to the Cherryland Humane Society, the Silver Muzzle Cottage and Black Sheep Crossing Animal Farm Sanctuary.
