Michigan Conservation Officers Recognized for Lifesaving Efforts

Two conservation officers are being recognized by the state for their lifesaving efforts.

Conservation Officers Ben Lasher and Steve Converse were patrolling Belle Isle when they saw a woman threatening to jump off the MacArthur Bridge.

Both officers were able to calm her down.

The woman then told officers she would like to get medical attention.

Lasher has been as a conservation officer since 1996 and serves St. Clair County.

Converse works in Manistee County and has been a conservation officer since 2000.
