Grand Traverse Crews In Sticky Situation Cleaning Up Corn Syrup Spill

Grand Traverse County emergency crews are in a sticky situation.

They’ve been busy cleaning up corn syrup for the past four hours near the Grand Traverse Mall on South Airport road.

Around 6 p.m., a truck carrying mass quantities of corn syrup stopped suddenly causing it to spill out of the back.

A few cars sloshed through it, getting mucky and sticky along the way.

UPDATE: South Airport Road is back open.
