El Paso Shooter’s Mom Called Police About His Assault Rifle

Investigators have uncovered more information about the El Paso shooting.

The FBI says the shooter’s mother had called police with concerns about her son owning an assault rifle weeks before the shooting.

She told police she was worried about his age, maturity level and lack of experience with weapons like that.

She was told by police that based on her description, her son was legally allowed to buy the gun.

Her lawyers say the call was just to get more information and she wasn’t worried that her son posed a threat to anybody.

Whether that specific gun was used in the attack is still unclear.
