Florida to Investigate Jeffrey Epstein’s ‘Lenient’ 2008 Plea Deal in Child Sex Crimes Case
Florida’s governor has ordered state criminal investigators to look in to a 2008 plea agreement that allowed Jeffrey Epstein to avoid federal prosecution for child sex crimes.
The lenient deal made between Epstein and then U.S. Attorney Alex Acosta only resulted in a 13-month sentence for Epstien.
During his sentence, Epstein was allowed to leave the jail and work in an office 12 hours a day for six days a week.
The investigation will look into how law enforcement handled the case and how Acosta and Epstein came to the agreement.
