After 26 Depot Cafe Grateful for Community’s Support at Annual Music Festival

People had the chance to enjoy a concert by the lake Saturday evening, and support a local nonprofit at the same time.

It’s the 5th Annual Depot Music Festival at the Rotary Pavilion on Lake Cadillac.

This is one of After 26 Depot Cafe’s biggest fundraisers of the year.

The restaurant is a nonprofit that employs people with disabilities.

That means when things slow down, the company won’t lay off its workers.

The general manager tells us the music festival has raised up to $20,000 in years past.

She says she’s overwhelmed by the generosity of the community.

“One of my board members just came up with tears in her eyes and said, you know somebody just gave us $100 cash donation. Again giving hearts, the generosity of people, they know the importance of this project,” says general manager Kelly Hondorp.

The concert runs until about 9 p.m. on Saturday.
