Expungement Clinic Stops in Otsego County

Some people could be getting a second chance, thanks to an expungement clinic held by University of Detroit Mercy law students.

The clinic is being held in Otsego County Friday.

With help from volunteers, including local judges and lawyers, people are able to learn more about expungement and even start the process which allows people to clear their criminal records.

To qualify, a person cannot have more than two misdemeanors and one felony, and the offenses have to be at least five years old.

Crimes like sexual assault or violent offenses do not qualify for expungement.

Friday’s clinic runs until 4 p.m.
