Stanley Takes Office as MSU’s 21st President

Michigan State University’s new president had his first day on the job.

The school says Samuel Stanley officially took his office Thursday, two months after he was hired by MSU’s Governing Board.

Stanley says he’s proud “to join the Spartan community.”

He was previously the President of New York’s Stony Brook University.

Stanley is Michigan State’s first permanent official following Lou Anna Simon’s resignation in 2018 during the Larry Nassar sexual assault scandal.
