Ironman Traverse City Charity Challenge: Great Lakes Children’s Museum

There are plenty of opportunities to swim, bike and run here in Northern Michigan and many people are taking full advantage of the trails and waterways this summer! that’s because many are preparing for the upcoming Ironman Traverse City 70.3 taking place August 25th.

The Great Lakes Children’s Museum is one of five organizations we will introduce you to on “the four” as part of the Charity Challenge Traverse City Tourism is hosting.

“The Children’s museum is all about interaction between the adults and kids. We believe the more interaction in the first five years- the better,” says Lisa Pointe with the Great Lakes Children’s Museum.

Competing on behalf of the museum is 9&10 News’ very own, Danny Martinelli who has been preparing wholeheartedly. “I have a calendar and every day I have what I want to do on it. Lifting, swimming, then biking and more running,” says Martinelli.

Martinelli’s background is in running. He has competed in countless local races like the Bayshore so initially the swimming and biking were foreign to him but he’s up for any challenge thrown his way!
