Traverse City Film Festival Hosting Free Movies at Open Space Downtown

Grab the popcorn! The Traverse City Film Festival kicks off this week, and you can join in for free with movies at Clinch Park.

Every night this week, the film fest is screening flicks at the Open Space park downtown.

The movies are free, and start around 9:30 p.m. and display on a 65-foot screen.

Get there early for food and events before showtime. Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday the festival will host a pre-show Kids Fest.

“There’s going to be a lot of added fun for families to come down. Come here early, get some food, we’re going to have photo booths, crafts, activities, face painters, it is going to be a lot of fun,” said Traverse City Film Festival creative director Meg Weichman.

Tuesday, July 30: Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi

Wednesday, July 31: The Little Mermaid

Thursday, August 1: Woodstock (early 9 pm start!)

Friday, August 2: Back to the Future

Saturday, August 3: Captain Marvel

Sunday, August 4: Mary Poppins Returns and Closing Night Bash
