A Little Thrift Shop Making a Big Difference: Ana’s Treasures

It is true that anyone can make a difference, whether you are three or 103, you can make an impact in your community and the world around you.

One young girl in West Branch is on a mission to provide families with the supplies they need to help support their foster children.

The owners of Ana’s Treasures hope that through their work they are making these foster children feel special.

Mindy Thompson is the owner of Ana’s Treasures and Ana, her daughter, is her inspiration.

Thompson said, “We fell in love with her. We brought her home at 5 weeks old and she’s been here ever since. She’s our little girl.”

This store caters foster children and creates a space where they can come in with the foster families and still get supplies and the best part it – it can be free.

The Thompson’s saw a need in their community and acted on it.

Every dollar that someone spends there goes directly back to buy items for foster families.

Thompson said, “Kids shouldn’t have to worry about who is going to take care of them.”

This little blessing has made a big difference and has brought the community closer with each milestone.
