Little Traverse Yacht Club Hosts 59th Annual Ugotta Regatta Races
Hundreds of people set their sails Saturday morning for the second day of the 59th annual Ugotta Regatta in Harbor Springs.
While it is a fun time for all, it is also a competitive race.
The event brings sailors and their families from all over the midwest and even beyond.
It takes more than 100 volunteers to make it a reality.
Sailors with years of experience said this regatta stands out from the rest.
“I’ve been sailing my entire life and this is one of the best regattas I’ve ever been in. You got to come out sailing, come out early, learn the sport, take some lessons. It’s a great group of people, a lot of fun and it’s beautiful out there sailing without a motor behind us” shared Michael VanAntwerp.
The race picks back up Sunday starting at noon and will go on for about three-to-four hours.
