National Walleye Tour in Sault Ste. Marie Brought in Anglers From Across the Country and Canada

Hundreds of fans and anglers packed Osborn Park in Sault Ste. Marie Friday afternoon for the finale of a popular fishing competition.

As one of the premiere competitions in the sport, the National Walleye Tour brought in anglers from across the country and Canada.

111 boats and 222 fishermen took to the St. Mary’s River over the past two days.

Prizes totaling over $60,000 were up for grabs for 1st place.

The competition just wrapped up.

“This circuit has the best walleye anglers in the world. I mean, hands down. There’s not a better group of guys, and there is a lot of respect amongst all these guys for each other, too. This whole thing is a blast,” said National Walleye Tour Angler, David Atkinson.

The top 28 finishers went home with prizes.
