BREAKING: Crews Recover Body of Teen in Lake Michigan
JUST IN: The Mason County Sheriff’s Office says they’ve recovered the body of 18-year-old Daniel McCarthy.
We told you Monday that McCarthy got caught up in a current near the mouth of the Big Sable River.
The Coast Guard, Michigan State Police and sheriff’s office have been searching since around 3 p.m. Monday.
Tuesday night the sheriff’s office says they found his body around 300 yards from the shore at 18 feet deep with MSP’s underwater sonar technology.
A dive team member from the sheriff’s department recovered his body at 8:46 p.m.
An autopsy will be conducted soon.
